Regenerative Public Space

New Urban Infrastructure/Regenerative Public Space: Using the piazza as an urban site, a new surface condition is explored to enable the public space to adapt to different situations and be able to regenerate back to a state of homeostasis. The physical model developed for this phase uses pneumatic pumps and air pressure to allow/cause changes to the surface condition. As one area of the surface is changed (pushed down), another area returns (rises) to normal (homeostasis).
